Glass Courses at the Glass Hub
With The Glass Hub Team
Hot Glass Sculpture Techniques Course

On this sculpture course we will leave behind the more usual blowing techniques and have fun with molten glass by stretching, pulling, pressing and folding the glass into recognisable or abstract shapes. Students can arrive with a vision in their mind, or just see what happens. We will take this further on day two, using bit additions to pieces, components and working to your own unique designs. We will endeavour to make objects like: a bird, a cat, a flower and a larger vase with sculptural objects (ie leaves) around it. A great course for the adventurous or playful beginner, also suitable for those who want to realise a specific idea in glass.

KT uses hot glass as her chosen artistic material and is passionate about the process as well as the product, using traditional techniques and merging them into contemporary styling - producing unique and graphic imagery. Her creations investigate the fluidity and possibilities of glass in its liquid form. KT has travelled and worked in many glass factories and studios throughout Europe, including Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg, Lino Tagliapietra and Dale Chihuly. She was an original founder of the Liquid Glass Centre, but has more recently worked with glassblower Sonja Klingler. KT is a co-director of Minimelt Glass, producing small mobile glass blowing furnaces, and co-director of The Glass Hub.
