Glass Courses at the Glass Hub

THE GLASS HUB SUMMER SCHOOL EXTRA
with The Glass Hub Team

The Glass Hub Summer School Extra

COURSE OUTLINE

This week will provide students with the opportunity to extend their experience of glass into new techniques and areas for a whole week. We will focus on improving glassblowing skills in the hotshop, recapping basic skills and progressing onto further colour work, including gold and silver leaf, bit-work, goblets, and sculptural glassblowing. In kilnforming we will look at further fusing techniques such as pattern bar, surface techniques such as reactive and iridescent fusing, as well as lost wax mould-making for casting. In lampworking we will work on jewellery inclusions, ring toppers and sculptural techniques.

We look forward to welcoming back those who have been on one of our week long schools, as well as those who have prior experience in glass and want to extend their skills . A creative, fun and action-packed week that will include an evening soiree with meal or BBQ at the Hub plus master glassmaker demonstrations.

"We are just home from the 2014 Summer School. We found the Glass Hub to be a friendly, welcoming, well-set up studio with lots of opportunities to be creative. The staff worked super hard, and never failed to be encouraging and instill confidence - thank you!" Hazel - Summer School 2014
