Glass Courses at the Glass Hub
Festive Fusing for Christmas
with Helga Watkins-Baker
Come along and enjoy a fun and festive session of glass fusing.  You will have the opportunity to create your own seasonal decorations including stars, trees, icicles, snowmen and more. It is suitable for those new to fusing or those with experience. We will work with compatible glass and a variety of decorative processes using frits, mica, metal and other inclusions. You will be able to make up to 5 decorations per 2 hour session or you can book all three for a whole day's creative glassmaking.

Have a look at what others have made using fusing on google images ...lots of ideas from trees, stars, snowflakes, snowmen or unique colourful designs.

IMPORTANT! Due to the cooling down processes involved with all glassmaking it is not possible for students to take work home on the day it is made. Work needs to cool slowly in our kilns and may be collected at a later time by arrangement or carefully packaged and posted to you for £10.
Helga originally trained in architectural stained glass, undertook postgraduate studies in kiln techniques for glass at Central St. Martin’s College, London, and an MA in Glass at Wolverhampton, specialising in kiln forming. She was chairperson of the Contemporary Glass Society from 2004-8, and was an original founder of the Liquid Glass Centre. Her glass work is an interpretation of ideas concerning nature, time, and the energy of natural forces and elements, such as air, water, light. She has worked in glass education for a number of years, and in 2010 published Kiln Forming Glass an in-depth guide to kiln processes for glass. She is co-director of The Glass Hub.
