Glass Colour Applications with Niki Steel
This class run by the fabulous Niki Steel will indulge students in even more colour processes, including some of Nikis special and personal trademarks. This class is suitable for those with some glassblowing skills, but also open to those who would like to design glass and are happy for us to "help out" technically. This is also suitable for intermdediate or those who have completed our 'Explore Colour' course on the previous day.
Nicola Steel was raised in The Hague in the Netherlands and moved to the UK in 2003 where her relationship with glass began. She studied glass in Manchester and at the International Glass Center in Brierly Hill, and then worked for Aaronson Noon Glass in London. Nicola's work is inspired by the theme of concealing and hiding elements within the glass, drawing the viewer to take a closer look inside to see into the work. She is very interested in the relationships between colours and the effect certain groupings can have and this is often present- or hidden- in her work. See
