Glass Courses at the Glass Hub
with The Glass Hub Team
5 Day Glassblowing Course - All Levels

This 5 day course is designed for and can accommodate all levels of experience. It will be especially beneficial to those students who want to consolidate and further their skills in glassblowing. Using both free blown and mould blowing methods, students will learn the basic principles of blowing glass with confidence and fluidity. There will be a choice for those who want to work on designing/prototyping specific ideas, and those who want to focus upon on particular technique.

We will study the fundamentals of blowing, colour work, assisting skills, bringing bits, trails and handles, plus we will be encouraging students to “go solo” and work unaided with supervision for some of the time should they wish.

IMPORTANT! Due to the cooling down processes involved with all glassmaking it is not possible for students to take work home on the day it is made. Work needs to cool slowly in our kilns and may be collected at a later time by arrangement or carefully packaged and posted to you for £20 (Our cost, no more). For 5-day students this will only apply to work made on the last day.
TUTOR(S): The Glass Hub Team
The Glass Hub team are all professional artists and tutors with many years experience. We run a number of furnaces, and although we do not guarantee a particular tutor for the 1-day blowing courses you can be sure that each tutor will be highly qualified and experienced.
Our team includes:
KT uses hot glass as her chosen artistic material and is passionate about the process as well as the product, using traditional techniques and merging them into contemporary styling - producing unique and graphic imagery. Her creations investigate the fluidity and possibilities of glass in its liquid form. KT has travelled and worked in many glass factories and studios throughout Europe, including Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg, Lino Tagliapietra and Dale Chihuly. She was an original founder of the Liquid Glass Centre, but has more recently worked with glassblower Sonja Klingler. KT is a co-director of Minimelt Glass, producing small mobile glass blowing furnaces, and co-director of The Glass Hub.
